LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — North Las Vegas police have shot and killed an armed man while responding to a domestic disturbance Friday afternoon.

The North Las Vegas Police Department said officers were sent to the 3100 block of Emmons Avenue just before 2 p.m., near Lake Mead Boulevard and Pecos Road. Police said the disturbance was within a family between a man and woman.

NLVPD said officers came in contact with a man armed with a knife. Officers used both English and Spanish ordering him to drop the knife and surrender. Police said he ignored all commands and continued to walk away from officers.

Police say the suspect charges at officers while armed and two officers fired and shot him. Medical later arrived and according to police, he died at UMC Trauma.

“This investigation is still in the preliminary stages and more information will be released when it becomes available,” police said. “This is the third NLVPD officer-involved shooting of 2025.”

The identities of the officers will be released after 72 hours, police say.
