LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The City of Las Vegas paid tribute to a veteran of D-Day who passed away.
In a post on social media, the city of Las Vegas paid tribute to Onofrio “No-No” Zicari. The 102-year-old veteran, who fought in the D-Day invasion in World War II, was previously recognized by the Las Vegas City Council.
“One of the last of the Greatest Generation, No-No leaves a proud legacy of protecting our nation and our freedoms,” the post said.
Zicari was a Purple Heart recipient and participated in a 2024 visit to Omaha Beach for a remembrance of D-Day, 80 years later.
