LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A Las Vegas defense attorney accused of using his position to victimize individuals with sex trafficking and prostitution had his prison sentence suspended.
Tuesday, court officials told FOX5 a judge ordered permanent disbarment for Gary Guymon. In February, the Nevada Supreme Court filed an order to temporarily suspend his license.
According to an arrest report, Las Vegas Metro Police began their investigation into Guymon November last year after they were given information he may have been “encouraging prostitution” from women and others he knew.
He was arrested on the following charges:
- Soliciting to commit murder
- Sex trafficking of an adult
- Pandering, three counts
- Conspiracy to commit murder
- Perjury
- Coercion with force or threat of force
- Bribing or intimidating a witness, three counts
In May, Guymon entered a no-contest plea agreement, meaning he did not admit or deny guilt, but accepted the punishment.
A judge decided he will not serve jail time, but he will continue mental health counseling and he will lose his attorney license. He’s also ordered to have no contact with an alleged victim.
