LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The suspect in an east Las Vegas shooting that sent a boy to the hospital is outstanding, Metro Police said Tuesday.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the shooting happened before 2:15 p.m. near Bonanza and Sandhill roads. Police said a boy was shot and sent to UMC hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they are still searching for the suspect. It is currently unclear what led up to the shooting.

“This is an ongoing investigation,” police said. “Please avoid the area.”
