LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Students and community members gathered at UNLV Friday morning for a vigil in honor of Charlie Kirk.
It was organized by the UNLV republicans.
Faith leaders led prayers for Kirk and people talked about his impact on their lives. One speaker encouraged everyone although they might be angry to let cooler heads prevail.
“We all need to be peacekeepers and all need to be children of God in a situation like this. And as the speaker said before, one man is gone, a great man is gone, but this gives us the power to all rise-up to hopefully the level of man that Charlie was.” said a speaker at the university event.
Students also had a chance to talk with people from Turning Point USA, which is the conservative youth group that was founded by Kirk.
