Fix being monitored for MyUNLV portal impacting students, administrative functions

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — FOX5 learned a portal for UNLV has been unavailable Thursday afternoon, but a fix is being monitored.

According to an email obtained by FOX5, UNLV’s Information Technology said the MyUNLV portal has been unavailable Thursday afternoon due to “equipment issues” at its data center.

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and any disruption this outage has caused,” UNLV said.

Officials say the portal is used for accessing student records, class schedules, and other administrative functions. UNLV’s IT says it’s working on restoring full service, and it’s working with NSHE’s System Computing Services and IBM to monitor a possible solution.

UNLV says MyUNLV services have since restarted, and its IT team will monitor the portal for a few hours to determine if the fix was successful. IT says it will send another email when the system is fully available and stable.
