LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A Las Vegas family’s dog was killed in a hit-and-run. Now, they are urging the public to help them find the driver responsible.
On Monday, a man was walking his three dogs in a neighborhood near Lake Mead Boulevard and Buffalo Drive. That’s when he says a car struck him from behind, forcing him to the ground and causing him to lose control of the dogs.
In shock, he quickly gathered himself, but said that’s when he realized he wasn’t the only one injured. Moo Moo, his four-year-old Miniature Dachshund, was also hit. Her injuries were life-threatening.
She was rushed to a local animal hospital, where the family learned that, at best, she would be paralyzed. Still, they had hope. But after her first surgery, Moo Moo died.
“One feeling was disbelief, the other was shock. When I was on the ground, I thought I was dead. I picked up Moo Moo, and I saw blood streaming down,” said victim E Lee
“It changed our family forever. Moo Moo was only four years old, we thought we had so much more time with her,” Alison Lee, daughter of the victim.
Now the family is searching for the driver responsible. He says the driver was in a white or light color car, and if anyone has information, the family asks to go to the police.
