LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — One of three suspects in a small explosion outside an off-Strip restaurant appeared in court Tuesday.

John Navarro, 35, pleaded not guilty to six charges, including first-degree arson, manufacturing or possessing an explosive, and using an explosive to damage or destroy property.

Navarro is scheduled to return to court April 7 for another hearing. His jury trial is set to begin April 13.

Prosecutors said Navarro and two other suspects, Sarah Hernandez and Philip Gonzalez, were involved in the incident in which an explosive was left on the porch of Piero’s early on the morning of November 13, then ran off.

The device exploded but caused only a small blast. No one was injured.

Surveillance video captured two of the suspects setting down the device and lighting the fuse, according to prosecutors.

Navarro was arrested the day after the incident. Hernandez and Gonzalez have been charged but remain at large and are considered fugitives.
