LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Construction continues on the new A’s ballpark and Tuesday the team showed off its “Ballpark Experience Center” at The UnCommons in southwest Las Vegas.
The space includes a full model of the ballpark plus exhibits, memorabilia and more.
FOX5 caught up with A’s owner John Fisher about his excitement for bringing the team to the city with this new stadium and how this will be something more than just a sports venue.
“So we really do think of this as not just the home for the A’s, but also as a community asset. And it’s our plan to have concerts, to have other sporting events, to have graduations, and do all these kinds of things with the community. So the people will think of this resource as theirs, as part of the community itself,” Fisher said.
The Ballpark Experience is open by appointment only at The Un]Commons. Stadium construction is making progress with the goal to open in 2028. Next year, the A’s will play six games in June at Las Vegas Ballpark, the home of their Triple-A affiliate, the Aviators.
