LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — New information is emerging about the suspect police say stole a bus from the Salvation Army and led officers on a high-speed pursuit across the Las Vegas Valley.
Exclusive dashcam video obtained by FOX5 shows the moments of the chase before the bus crashed, killing a motorcyclist. Police say 24-year-old Jalen Felton stole that van with someone inside.
Witnesses reported that a group was leaving church, headed to an AA meeting, when Felton took off. He led officers on a high-speed chase, reaching speeds of 80 miles per hour on city streets.
During the 25-mile pursuit, Felton let the passenger out of the van. The chase continued for up to 25 minutes with the van losing a front tire, sending sparks flying.
