LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The fallout continues after an ICE agent shot and killed Alex Pretti in Minneapolis.
Pretti was a registered nurse.
Wednesday night, nurses in Las Vegas joined together in protest of the deadly shooting. Dozens of members of National Nurses United RN gathered outside Saint Rose Siena Hospital.
They held a candlelight vigil to honor the memories of Pretti and Renee Good, who were also shot and killed by an ICE agent earlier this month.
They also shared a message as nurses that they want to provide care for everyone.
“Being an immigrant does not make you a criminal. Immigrants are our neighbors. They’re our friends. They’re our family. They’re our coworkers. And as a nurse, we care for everyone. We don’t decide your care based on your immigration status. Every patient should be treated equally well,” said Lisa Cornelius, a registered nurse.
The nurses also had a message for Congress, asking them not to fund ICE.
