LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Fire safety is getting a crucial upgrade for deaf and hard-of-hearing residents in Southern Nevada.
Saturday, the American Red Cross is teaming up with Las Vegas Deaf Seniors. Volunteers will visit nearly thirty homes to install specialized smoke alarms.
These include strobe lights and bed shakers. They’re designed to alert through flashing lights or vibrations.
The initiative is part of the Red Cross’s Home Fire Campaign. It provides free alarms and fire safety education to keep families safe.
