LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A police investigation into a carjacking is shutting down lanes near I-15 in the northeast valley Friday morning.
Around 8:10 p.m. on Thursday, Las Vegas Metro Police received reports that a group of suspects approached a vehicle near Grand Montecito Parkway and Elkhorn Road. Police say the suspects pointed a gun at the vehicle’s occupants, demanding they give them the car.
The vehicle was later located by LVMPD patrol officers and a pursuit was initiated, until the suspects abandoned the vehicle in the 900 block of Appaloosa Hills Avenue, near Centennial Parkway. Police say the suspects then ran into a nearby house.
The possible suspects were later seen entering another vehicle, which was stopped by police in the area of Lamb Boulevard near the I-15.
No arrests have been made yet, police tell FOX5.
Southbound Lamb at the I-15 will remain closed while the investigation is ongoing.
This is a developing story, check back later for updates.
