LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas Metropolitan Police will join law enforcement agencies across Nevada for a statewide impaired driver campaign aimed at removing drunk drivers from the roads.

The Joining Forces Impaired Driver Campaign will take place from February 6 to February 22, according to LVMPD.

The campaign aims to increase law enforcement participation by coordinating highly visible patrols across Nevada with the goal of keeping motorists safe by removing impaired drivers from Nevada’s roadways and educating the motoring public about the dangers of driving while impaired.

“Never be too proud or embarrassed to ask for a ride,” police said in a statement. “Always allowing a sober driver to help you get home safely keeps you and others safe. Make the choice to never drive impaired. Every time you choose to get behind the wheel, lives are in your hands.”
