LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas Metro Police is on a mission to make valley roads safer.
According to LVMPD, in January, a total of 50 intersections in their jurisdiction were highlighted as areas with an increasing number of crashes.
Officers cited drivers for speeding up to 20 mph over the limit, disobeying red light signals, and driving without a valid driver’s license, insurance, or registration, the post detailed.
Here is a list of the reported intersections in each area command for Metro’s jurisdiction which have been ranked the ‘Top Crash Intersections.’
- Bolden Area Command – Charleston and Valley View
- Convention Center Area Command – Desert Inn and Paradise
- Downtown Area Command – Eastern and Stewart
- Enterprise Area Command – Blue Diamond and Durango
- South Central Area Command – Eastern and Tropicana
- Northeast Area Command – Lamb and Lake Mead Boulevard
- Northwest Area Command – Cheyenne and Tenaya
- Summerlin Area Command – Charleston and Durango
- Southeast Area Command – Charleston and Nellis
- Spring Valley Area Command – Decatur and Flamingo
“Our department is focused on saving lives and making the roads safer for everyone,” Metro said in a post.
