LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — An e-scooter rider was injured after being struck by a bus in Downtown Las Vegas Thursday morning, police say.
Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to multiple reports of a crash on Commerce Street and Utah Avenue around 5:43 a.m.
Arriving officers located a male victim on the ground with a severe injury to their leg. Police say that the man was conscious, and was immediately transported to UMC Trauma for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police add that witnesses and the driver of the bus reported seeing the e-scooter rider run a redlight right before the crash.
The intersection is currently closed in all directions.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area, and find alternate routes if possible.
