LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Flavor Flav has announced a collaboration with MGM Resorts to host the “She Got Game” weekend, a celebration of Team USA’s female Olympians.

The rapper posted a flyer for the event on X, which says it will be held July 16-19.

The event is also done in collaboration with The Gist, a woman-led sports and media branding company.

This event announcement comes after Flav extended an invitation for a “real celebration” to the US Women’s Hockey Team, after they declined an invite to the State of the Union address.

On Monday, Flavor Flav wrote in a post on X: “If the USA Women’s Hockey team wants a real celebration and invite… I’ll host them in Las Vegas.”

Additional backlash came after a video emerged of the Men’s National Hockey Team on a phone call with President Donald Trump, who invited the men to the State of the Union address.

During the phone call, Trump added that he “probably would be impeached” if he did not invite the women’s team.

In a press conference, Alex Carpenter, who’s also a forward on the Seattle Torrent in the Professional Women’s Hocket League, told the media that receiving Flav’s invitation was “definitely super special… to have someone step up like that.”

She continued that the team would “finish our season up here then… go have some fun and celebrate like we deserve to.”

MGM Resorts has also released a statement regarding the event:
