LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Officials have identified the suspect and officers involved in a police shooting in Golden Valley, Arizona, 25 miles east of Laughlin.

According to Bullhead City Officials, officers responded to the shooting on March 4, a little before 8:30 a.m.

Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies were attempting to arrest a domestic violence suspect while he was armed and refused to comply with their commands, officials said. The suspect then started a fire inside the trailer before opening fire on deputies outside.

Deputies returned fire, striking the suspect. The suspect died at the scene, officials report,

The suspect was identified as Johnny Manion Friend, 45. The four deputies were identified as follows: Sergeant David Kinion has been with the MCSO for 13 years, Detective Devin Godfrey has 8 years of service with the MCSO, Detective Jason Zappela, and Deputy Jose Cardenas, both of whom began as detention officers in 2017 and have served with the MCSO for the last 9 years.

Bullhead City Police Department says this is an ongoing investigation.
