LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Following his 36th arrest, the man at the center of a ankle-monitor legal fight is set to appear in court Thursday morning.

Joshua Sanchez-Lopez, 36, was arrested by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on Wednesday, after he was released earlier this month on an ankle monitor.

LVMPD and Sheriff Kevin McMahill urged the Supreme Court to intervene ahead of his release, highlighting Sanchez-Lopez’s multiple felony convictions, among more than 80 other charges.

Officials note that he was originally booked on January 12 for crimes involving possession of a stolen vehicle, leading to the debate on his release.

Sanchez-Lopez is currently listed as in custody, with charges now including:

  • Child Abuse or Neglect
  • Possession Documents/Person ID to Commit Forge (13 counts)
  • Obtain Credit Card Without Holders Consent (10 counts)
  • Possess Financial Forgery Lab for Unlawful Act
  • Mail Theft
  • Possession Schedule I, II of Controlled Substance Less than 14 grams

He is due before a judge at 9 a.m.
