LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A new app is helping dads who feel isolated find friends, support and a community — all for free.

Co-owners say it’s about making sure dads don’t feel alone and giving kids a safe, screen-free way to meet other families.

Dad Tribes has already built dad communities in states like Texas, Kansas, Mississippi and Iowa, and now it’s looking to grow even more.

In just two weeks, the group has grown to more than 180 members across the valley and their first free event is set for later this month.

“But if we do know each other and we create an environment where people know each other, they have more social abilities instead of being on social media and on a screen all the time. They’re actually playing with other kids,” said Luke Cunningham, co-owner.

Steve Littman, co-owner of Dad Tribes Nevada, said the goal is to create a comfortable space for fathers.

“We want to have a place where they feel comfortable to come and speak about anything they need to — whether it’s mental health issues, or it could be just talking about, you know, the football game coming up on Sunday. Anything,” Littman said.

The community is free to join and all the events are free thanks to help of partners and hosts.

Dads can sign up at DadTribes.com.
