LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A trial date has been set in former Raiders head coach Jon Gruden’s lawsuit against the NFL.

Gruden is suing the league over damaging emails that were leaked to media outlets in 2021—messages that ultimately led to his resignation from the Raiders.

Last summer, the Nevada Supreme Court upheld a lower court ruling allowing the case to move forward in court rather than being handled through private arbitration. The court found Gruden was no longer a league employee when he filed the lawsuit, meaning the NFL constitution’s arbitration provision did not apply.

The jury trial is scheduled to begin in May 2027.
