LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Nevada Highway Patrol has identified the driver in a deadly freeway crash north of Las Vegas as a 25-year-old man from Florida.
On Friday, March 27, around 6 p.m., NHP officers responded to a crash on US-95 Northbound at Snow Mountain, according to NHP.
Jonathon Kristofer Lopez from Plant City, Florida, died at the scene of the crash, said NHP.
Officials report a 2023 Hyundai Elantra sedan was traveling northbound on US-95. The driver was just north of Snow Mountain when they veered off into the dirt shoulder and struck a concrete overpass barrier. The car then caught fire.
Nevada State Police Highway Patrol says they have investigated 18 fatal crashes, which have resulted in 21 fatalities.
