LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Search and Rescue team conducted a rescue on Lone Mountain Thursday, according to officials.

Two hikers were rescued around noon after getting stuck when they tried hiking down a gulley on the east side of the Mountain.

One of the victims tried to climb down and fell, resulting in multiple injuries.

Several SAR personnel hiked to the summit, where they used a rappel line to access the stuck victims.

A second line was dropped further down to rescue the injured victim. Officials report both victims were dehydrated.

AIR3 was requested to help extract the victims and all SAR personnel, according to officials.

Las Vegas SAR reports the victims were airlifted to an improvised landing zone in the Lone Mountain park area.

The victims were transferred to medical personnel on the ground.
