LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — An arrest report is revealing new details about the hours leading up to a deadly domestic shooting in east Las Vegas that left one woman dead and ended with a standoff in Arizona.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department identified 64-year-old Scott Hubert as the suspect involved in the April 6 shooting. Investigators note in the report that he was seen going back and forth from his home near Sahara Avenue and McLeod Drive, returning angry and starting arguments with family members inside the residence on Karen Avenue.

Witnesses told detectives that Hubert was seen leaving for work around 5 a.m. but returned home between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. in a good mood, before leaving again. According to the report, around 9:30 a.m., witnesses say Hubert returned angry and began arguing with and pushing other people inside the home.
Around 11:31 a.m., LVMPD received a 911 call reporting a shooting in the area. Arriving officers would find the victim, Stephanie Burton, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds near the entrance of the apartment.
Police say she was pronounced dead around 11:49 a.m.
After the shooting, witnesses told detectives that Hubert was seen near the apartment before gunshots could be heard. One witness said Hubert threatened to shoot them and fired shots at him while he drove away. According to the report, the witness disclosed that he was also carrying a weapon and returned fire.
Detectives noted in the report that surveillance video and cartridge-case evidence were consistent with Ross’ account.
At 1:49 p.m., detectives were notified that the Arizona Department of Public Safety had located Hubert between Las Vegas and Kingman, Arizona.
Police said Hubert drove over spike strips, attempted to enter oncoming traffic, barricaded himself in his vehicle, before attempting to kill himself.
However, he survived and was hospitalized in Arizona before being flown to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas.
Hubert was booked in absentia at Sunrise Hospital on charges of open murder with a deadly weapon and attempted murder with a deadly weapon.
