LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — An officer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department was injured after being struck by a driver suspected of DUI early Thursday morning.

The incident was reported just before 1 a.m. near Sahara Avenue and Fort Apache Road. Police say an officer was conducting a traffic stop when an unrelated vehicle traveling eastbound on Sahara struck the patrol unit.
The officer was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver is being investigated for DUI, police add.
The incident happened just hours after a suspected DUI driver hit an officer and a paramedic near Lake Mead Boulevard and Decatur Boulevard. Both also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
