LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Opera Las Vegas will close its 2025-26 season with a new production of Ruggero Leoncavallo’s “Pagliacci” next month at the Judy Bayley Theatre at UNLV. The production will be directed by John de los Santos and conducted by Joshua Horsch.
Premiered in 1892, “Pagliacci” is regarded as one of opera’s most enduring and accessible masterpieces. The story follows a traveling commedia dell’arte troupe whose backstage jealousy and betrayal erupt into real-life tragedy in front of an unsuspecting audience.
Opera Las Vegas says this production continues its commitment to high-quality opera while expanding community access and audience engagement throughout Southern Nevada.
Performances are scheduled for Friday, June 5, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 2 p.m. Both performances will be sung in Italian with English and Spanish supertitles.
