LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Nevada Secretary of State’s Office (NVSOS) announced the beginning of the 2024 candidate filing period for non-judicial offices, including state and federal offices, along with the launch of a new filing system application.
According to an NVSOS media release, the filing period ends on Friday March 15 at 5 p.m. The NVSOS IT and Elections divisions have developed a new Candidate Filing application to make filing for office easier for both candidates and elections staff.
The new system reportedly streamlines the process by reducing the time needed to file, alleviating administrative burdens on staff, and cutting down on errors by removing the manual transfer of information. The unofficial list of candidates will be updated here.
This list of candidates is not official until the end of the withdrawal and challenge periods, and will be published no later than April 3. The Secretary of State is the filing officer for all statewide and multi-county offices.
The County Clerk or Registrar of Voters is the filing officer for county and township offices, as well as any offices elected from districts within one county. The city clerk is the filing office for city offices.
