BAKER, CA (FOX5) — An iconic landmark on the drive between Las Vegas and Los Angeles is up for sale.

The World’s Tallest Thermometer, which stands along I-15 in Baker, California, is being offered for sale as it enters a new chapter, according to a message the family posted on its website.

The owners said several of them are nearing retirement and can no longer devote as much time to day-to-day operations. They said they are now looking for a new owner to preserve the thermometer and build on its future.

The 134-foot roadside landmark was first completed in October 1991, but strong winds knocked it down the following month. It was rebuilt and switched on in October 1992, then later renovated in 2014, according to the site.

Baker, California is located about 94 miles south of Las Vegas.
