LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Early voting for Nevada’s 2026 primary election begins Saturday, May 23, and runs through June 5, giving voters in Las Vegas and across Clark County more than a week to cast ballots before Election Day on June 9.
State election officials have released updated information on polling locations and official ballot drop boxes, including interactive maps designed to help voters find where to vote in person or return a mail ballot.
The Nevada Secretary of State’s office said the tools also include tribal voting information statewide.
Nevada voters have multiple ways to participate in the primary election:
- Vote during early voting, Saturday, May 23, 2026 through Friday, June 5, 2026.
- Vote in person on Election Day, Tuesday, June 9
- Return a mail ballot through the postal service, or drop a ballot at an official county drop box.
Election officials recommend mailing ballots back at least a week before Election Day to avoid delays.
If you would like to opt out of receiving a mail-in ballot before the general election, the deadline to notify your county clerk or registrar’s office is September 4, 2026.

In Clark County, election officials say active registered voters are sent a mail ballot for the June 9 primary unless they opted out of vote-by-mail. Voters who plan to return a mail ballot are encouraged to do so early, noting that delivery times can vary.
Under Nevada law, mail ballots sent through the U.S. Postal Service must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by the election department by 5 p.m. on the fourth day after the election.
Nevada uses closed primary elections. That means voters generally may only vote for candidates from the political party they are registered with. Nonpartisan voters and voters registered with minor parties will not see Democratic or Republican partisan contests on their ballots, but they may still vote in nonpartisan races, including judicial contests.
Voters can register, update, or check their registration at vote.nv.gov. Mail ballot tracking is available at myballot.nv.gov.
Voters looking for polling locations and ballot drop boxes can use the state’s online locator and interactive maps, and Clark County voters can find local guidance at ClarkCountyNV.gov/vote.
