Monday’s hearing involved an unrelated speeding ticket from 2023. After failing to appear in court for his initial arraignment on the ticket, a bench warrant was issued in 2024.
State prosecutors are seeking to add to Estrada’s jail time for evading the bench warrant, according to court records.
However, a public defender representing Estrada requesting the hearing be continued as he waits for additional pieces of evidence from the prosecutor’s office, including body-worn camera and the radar calibration certification.
Estrada is due back in traffic court on July 23.
He is due back in criminal court for his shooting-related charges on June 29.
