LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Clark County Fire Department and Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded to a morning structure fire at a two-story home under construction, stopping it before it spread to nearby buildings.

Clark County Fire Department and Las Vegas Fire & Rescue crews responded at 10:12 a.m. to a fire at a large, two-story custom home under construction at the 11000 block of Stardust Drive.

Fire officials say workers said a welding spark ignited insulation. A battalion chief requested additional units as a precaution to keep the fire from spreading to nearby homes under construction.

Crews would later attack the fire from inside, located the source, and knocked down at 10:37 a.m.

No nearby structures were damaged.

A total of 50 firefighters responded. Two people were also evaluated for possible smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.
