LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Hilton Grand Vacations employees packed about 400 backpacks and school supply kits for military children and veterans’ families in the Las Vegas area.
The event was held in partnership with the nonprofit Operation Homefront and is aimed at easing the cost of sending kids back to school.

Kits to be distributed next month
The kits will be distributed next month in the Las Vegas area. Organizers said many of Operation Homefront’s staff are military-connected and know firsthand how quickly school expenses can add up for families with several children — especially when a parent is deployed.
Chantal Williams, manager of partner engagement for Operation Homefront, said the effort directly benefits hundreds of local households.
“Through the generosity of Hilton Grand Vacations, we are able to serve 400 military families in the local Las Vegas area… giving kids the basic necessities they need to start school, and taking a little stress off those military households,” Williams said.
Operation Homefront holds similar backpack events every year across the country. Families can find more information on future distributions on the organization’s website.
