LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A kitten was rushed to a local animal hospital after a metal piece from a plant stand pierced its mouth, sending rescuers and veterinarians into a race to remove it and save its life.
According to the Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center, the kitten arrived with the metal still lodged in its mouth, with the stand still attached.

With help from the Clark County Fire Department, crews assisted the veterinary team in safely cutting and removing the metal. After it was removed, a hospital surgeon immediately treated the wound.
The hospital also credited two additional veterinarians and an anesthesiologist with overseeing the procedure. Officials said the kitten suffered no broken bones and was discharged later that day.
