LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Crews are preparing to begin phase two of a reconstruction project along Nevada Way, from Wyoming Street to Park Street through historic downtown Boulder City.
The work includes repaving, restriping and replacing deteriorating asphalt. The project will also reconstruct Park Street from Nevada Way to Colorado Street and Utah Street.

Pedestrian and ADA upgrades included
Phase two will include ADA and pedestrian upgrades, such as raised crosswalks with flashing beacons. The project will also include installing bollards, adding walkways and improving ramps and driveways.
Business owner cites impact of phase one
Terry Stevens, co-owner of the Coffee Cup Café, said improvements from phase one have already affected the area.
“All the public loves it. They come in to visit the restaurants and shops and everything I hear from them is positive feedback,” Stevens said. “And honestly, it’s so much safer to come down the road. We lowered the speed limit just a touch also, which has helped out tremendously.”
Federal funding secured through Congresswoman Titus
Phase two will be funded by an $850,000 investment secured with the help of Congresswoman Dina Titus.
“We need to bring tourists in here. We need to bring products in here,” Titus said. “We import so many things that we’ve got to be able to move people around effectively. So having good infrastructure really makes a difference.”
