LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A special education teacher at a local elementary school was arrested Friday after school surveillance footage captured her repeatedly dragging a student by his shirt collar, according to an arrest report.
Marianna Wynn, 63, was taken into custody by Clark County School District Police and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on Friday where she faces a charge of battery on a protected/vulnerable person.
According to police, the incident occurred that same day at Ruben P. Diaz Elementary School, located near Owens Avenue and Marion Drive in east Las Vegas.

According to a police arrest report obtained by FOX5 on Tuesday, the school’s principal contacted officers after reviewing hallway surveillance footage.
The footage reportedly showed Wynn, a licensed teacher in the school’s Life Skills classroom, which serves students with intellectual disabilities, forcibly dragging a male student down the hallway by the back collar of his shirt three separate times.
That student is said to have been diagnosed with Autism and Down Syndrome and is extremely limited in his ability to communicate or care for himself, the report states.
Wynn was contacted by officers in a school conference room later that afternoon and after being read her Miranda rights, she declined to speak with investigators.
She is due back in court on September 22.
