LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Two families are displaced after a fire at a townhome complex in central Las Vegas Saturday night, the Clark County Fire Department says.
Firefighters say they responded to multiple calls reporting a structure fire at a two-story townhome located at 5115 Gray Lane, near Tropicana Avenue and Maryland Parkway, just after 9:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, fire crews upgraded the response to a second alarm as heavy smoke and visible flames consumed the garage and began spreading into the living areas of the residence.

Initially, crews with the Clark County Fire Department said they utilized a defensive strategy to prevent the flames from spreading to neighboring homes. Firefighters successfully confined the blaze to the townhome where it started.
After containing the exterior spread, commanders said they downgraded the second alarm. Firefighters transitioned to an offensive strategy, entering the structure to conduct primary and secondary searches of the residence.
All occupants successfully evacuated the building, according to CCFD. Officials confirmed there were no injuries reported among the residents or responding firefighters.
A total of 39 personnel responded to the scene, including six engines, two ladder trucks, two rescue units, two battalion chiefs, and an EMS captain.
The American Red Cross was called to assist the two displaced families.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
