LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A 49-year-old man was found dead inside Henderson Detention Center on Tuesday, according to police.
The body was discovered by corrections officers at the detention center while conducting routine inmate checks. The Henderson Police Department says staff immediately began life-saving measures, but the inmate was pronounced dead by medical staff.

The inmate had been in custody at the Henderson Detention Center since September 28, on a failure to appear warrant related to a 2025 misdemeanor petit larceny charge, according to police.
The identification of the decedent, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
This is the first death of 2026 at the Henderson Detention Center.
