LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Bureau of Land Management is inviting businesses and guides to apply for special recreation permits at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
The application window runs from Oct. 1 through Dec. 31 of this year, with permits expected to be awarded by March 31, 2027.
Available permit slots
Open slots include five permits for art or fitness activities such as yoga, meditation, running, painting or photography. One permit is available for four-wheel-drive tours on designated roads, and one is available for horseback or other equestrian activities on designated trails.

Three permits are available for motorized scooters, Segways or motorcycles. Two permits are available for guided hiking tours, and one is available for guided biking.
How to apply
All applications must go through BLM’s online permit portal, called RAPTOR. Other types of special recreation permits, including large events and those covered under the EXPLORE Act, are not part of this round.
After the deadline, a selection panel will score the proposals and send the top-rated ones for possible award.
For more details, including how to apply, the BLM says to check the 2026 Red Rock Canyon Permit Opportunity Prospectus or call the Red Rock-Sloan Field Office.
