LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Two women dressed as showgirls were arrested last week after a fight along the Las Vegas Strip that left a tourist injured and led to a fraud allegation, according to a newly released arrest report.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department identified the suspects as Jennifer Ortiz and Magdellena Romero for the incident that occurred on September 30, where officers responded to the exterior of Planet Hollywood following reports of a battery in progress.
According to the report, two visitors from North Carolina agreed to take photos with three women dressed in feathered costumes in exchange for a tip. After tipping $20, the duo started to walk away.
Police said Ortiz followed them, demanded between $60 and $180, then struck one of the visitors multiple times. The report states Ortiz removed her white high-heeled boot and hit Richards in the forehead, causing a nearly 2-inch cut.

Surveillance video showed the visitor was struck more than 22 times, police added in the report.
The other tourist would tell police she tried to intervene and was then tackled by Romero, who pulled her hair and punched her in the face and head with a closed fist, according to the report.
A third woman with the group reportedly did not strike anyone and tried to break up the fight, police said. One of the tourists later told officers she did not want charges against the third woman.
The tourists were treated at the scene and declined to go to the hospital. Both of the victims would go on to tell police that they wanted to press battery charges and gave written statements.
The report also detailed a separate allegation at the same location, where one man told police he agreed to pay $60 for photos by tapping his debit card on Ortiz’s phone, but was charged $218.
He said when he confronted the women, they gave him a false phone number to resolve it. He also gave a written statement and asked to press charges.
Both suspects declined medical attention. In interviews with police, Ortiz claimed Richards became aggressive and hit her first. Romero said she intervened after seeing her friend being attacked.
Ortiz was booked on charges of battery and obtaining money under false pretenses under $1,200. Romero was booked on battery charges. Both were taken to the Clark County Detention Center.
The report also notes Ortiz had a prior stay-out-of-trouble order from Las Vegas Municipal Court related to a similar fight at the Fremont Street Experience in March 2026.
Both suspects are due back in court in court for a status check on December 3.
