LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A pedestrian was killed in a crash involving a semi tractor-trailer early Saturday on southbound Interstate 15 at Neon Gateway, Nevada State Police said.

According to Nevada State Police, on Saturday, Oct. 3, around 1:15 a.m., a 2024 Volvo semi tractor with trailer in tow was traveling southbound on I-15 north of Charleston Boulevard and the southbound on-ramp.

Nevada State Police said a pedestrian who was on the right shoulder of I-15 ran into the path of the Volvo. The front of the Volvo struck the left side of the pedestrian, according to Nevada State Police.

The driver of the semi remained on scene with investigators, Nevada State Police said.

All southbound I-15 lanes were closed at I-15 and Charleston during the investigation, with traffic diverted to the Charleston off-ramp and the Charleston on-ramp closed, Nevada State Police said.

This crash remains under investigation by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol.

According to Nevada State Police, this marks the 50th fatal crash, resulting in 55 fatalities in 2026 so far.
