LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — New details have emerged following a reported road-rage shooting earlier this week in a southwest Las Vegas shopping center parking lot, according to an arrest report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Police took Cody Nox into custody after responding to reports of gunfire around 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6, in the Sam’s Club parking lot at 7100 Arroyo Crossing Parkway near 215 and Rainbow Boulevard.

According to the arrest report, the dispute began when the driver of a white Lexus SUV made a wide turn while leaving the retail parking lot. Nox, driving a black Tesla Model Y with his wife, told investigators he believed the Lexus nearly struck his car.

Both drivers engaged in an argument before returning toward their vehicles. The driver of the Lexus told police he was struck by gunfire as he was getting back inside.

Officers documented bullet damage to the Lexus’s front windshield and a broken rear tailgate window. No injuries were reported.

Both drivers called 911 following the confrontation. The driver of the Lexus told dispatchers someone in a black Tesla shot at his vehicle, while Nox called to report that he had fired at another vehicle after a road dispute and was waiting nearby.

Nox told investigators he became angry, was “not thinking” and fired one round toward the Lexus. The passenger of the Tesla told police she witnessed her husband retrieve a handgun from beneath the driver’s seat and fire at the other vehicle.

Investigators recovered the casing in the parking lot and found an apparent bullet strike in a nearby tree. Officers also located a handgun inside the Tesla.

Police noted that the Tesla video footage showed Nox arguing, retrieving a handgun and discharging the weapon.

Nox was arrested and faces several felony charges related to suspicion of discharging a firearm from or within a vehicle in a prohibited area, discharging a firearm at or into an occupied vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon, and discharging a firearm where a person might be endangered.

According to court records, total bail across all four counts was set at $50,000.

Nox is set to appear in court on Oct. 12, 2026.
