LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — As Las Vegas locals and lawmakers have worked to boost the film industry and encourage movie studios to move to Nevada, one effort will help Clark County make its mark on film credits.
At the end of a film during the credits, you could soon see a “Thanks to“ or ”Filmed in Clark County” mention if the project obtained a film permit in the county.
Dozens of iconic movies, blockbusters and cinema classics have been filmed across the Las Vegas Strip over the years. Commission Chair Michael Naft said viewers should know that the Strip is actually in Clark County.
“The Las Vegas Strip is in unincorporated Clark County. We are local, municipal, and regional government for two and a half million people, and so as people come here and get requests, their film permits be issued to shoot on the Las Vegas Strip or to shoot anywhere else in the unincorporated Clark County jurisdiction, they also, they ought to include Clark County, Nevada on their credit score,” Naft said.

According to County data, more than 200 film permits are issued annually; 1,119 permits have been issued from 2022 to late 2026.
From U.S. states like Georgia, New Mexico, and New York, to Canadian regions like Ontario and Vancouver, or countries like the United Kingdom or Ireland, films, TV shows, and documentaries mention a nod to the filming locations; some of those mentions come with a tax credit package from the government entity.
That’s how Oscar-winning movie “Anora” had a Nevada Film Office logo in its end credits.
Naft notes that Clark County’s fees are among the lowest for major areas; the mention also recognizes numerous workers that help with a project.
There could be a dozen county agencies or departments involved in a film shoot. We have the ability to host the most significant events on the planet,” Naft said.
Tuesday, the Board of Commissioners directed county staff to proceed with the steps to create an ordinance.
