LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Clark County School District Police Department has received grant funds to team up with local law enforcement agencies for the Joining Forces Pedestrian Safety Campaign.
The campaign will take place from Oct. 10 to Oct. 31. The goal of Joining Forces is to have more officers on the roads in high-visibility spots to crack down on speeding, distracted and impaired driving, as well as to emphasize public awareness of safety on the roads.

Officers will also be looking for drivers who aren’t wearing seatbelts, and focusing on pedestrian, motorcycle and bicycle safety.
The Nevada Department of Public Safety Office of Traffic Safety supplied the grant to CCSDPD, thanks to funding from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
CCSDPD is just one of several local agencies dedicated to bringing the number of deaths on Nevada’s roadways to zero.
