LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — PWHL Las Vegas forward Hayley Scamurra is part of the team’s inaugural roster heading into the 2025-26 season. Training camp starts November 6th, with the home opener set for December 6th.

Scamurra became the first player to win the Walter Cup and an Olympic gold medal with Team USA in the same season.

“There are honestly no words. It’s kind of incredible to be a part of history in that way, especially for women’s hockey, but I can only think of my team and thank them. I’ve been a part of two incredible championship teams in one year, so it’s pretty special,” Scamurra said.

Scamurra is part of what is described as the “Triple G Club,” a group of 14 PWHL players who have won gold at the World Championship, an Olympic gold medal and the Walter Cup.

“You know what? I don’t really see it as pressure. I think it’s more just an exciting opportunity. I think I can kind of bring that energy into this new Vegas team and into the club and build it into the team culture. I think it will be critical for a first-year expansion team,” Scamurra said.

Scamurra said she is looking forward to the team’s first home game at T-Mobile Arena later this year.

“I have definitely thought about it a lot, especially finally being here and getting settled officially. I’m actually playing for Vegas. This is really happening. And I definitely have envisioned that first game at T-Mobile. I think it’s super exciting. And I’ve seen how they’ve rallied around the Golden Knights. I can’t wait to see how they rally around us. Once we start getting games in there and really putting our foot in the community here and having that footprint, it’s going to be great,” Scamurra said.
