LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The trial for the man accused of stealing a flamingo from a Las Vegas Strip casino earlier this year begins Tuesday.
Mitchell Fairbarn, of Ontario, Canada, is facing four counts of animal cruelty in connection with a March incident involving Peachy the flamingo, who has since recovered and is reportedly doing well.

One condition of Fairbarn’s March 9 bail was that he surrender her passport, meaning he has not been able to return home to Canada.
He would later plead not guilty on July 7 before a judge set his court date to October 13 when jury selection is set to be underway.
The trial is expected to last one week.
