LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A Centennial Hills woman says someone stole a package of Halloween decorations from her porch Tuesday night, and she has filed a police report.
Laura Haynes told FOX5 she has lived in the neighborhood for a few weeks. She said the theft was not about the cost of the item.
“Do unto others as you want to do it to yourself. That’s what the word tells us,” Haynes said.
Doorbell camera captured the theft
Haynes said she couldn’t believe what her door camera captured.
“So, I looked and plain as day, there’s somebody at 9:39 p.m. stealing our package,” Haynes said.
Video from Haynes’ porch camera shows a person walking up to her front door. The person has bright blue hair and is wearing a black shirt and gray shorts. The person takes the package from the porch and walks away.
Haynes filed a police report online the next morning.
“What I want from this is like if a mother or somebody sees it, to turn their child in. Because if it was my child, oh, I would be taking them straight to the police. You’re not supposed to take from people,” said Haynes.

Decorations were for an event for kids with autism
Haynes said the stolen decorations were for an upcoming Trunk or Treat event at her job, where she works with kids with autism.
“We want just to make something really fun for them. Something safe for them. And know that the candy is good. And so, it meant a lot to me,” Haynes said.
“It’s just the principle. You came to my door, and you stole from me,” Haynes said.
Haynes also left a message on FOX5’s rant line.
“So that person who came and stole from me, you stole from my kids. You better hope that God does not get you. Because God’s wrath is worse than any person’s wrath,” Haynes said.
Haynes said she reached out to Amazon about the stolen item, and the company sent her a new one free of charge.
FOX5 has reached out to local police to find out where the investigation stands and will provide updates when more information is available.
