LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Early voting is now underway in Clark County. A local pro-democracy group turned Desert Breeze into a “party at the polls” Saturday to get people to cast ballots early instead of waiting for Election Day.
Indivisible Las Vegas organized what they call “No Kings, Vote Early” at eight locations across the valley. At Desert Breeze Community Center, volunteers waved signs, took photos and offered food while pointing voters toward the doors.
Organizers say it is a celebration, not a protest, and the goal is simple: get people to vote early to avoid last-minute problems. They also remind voters they can use any early voting site in Clark County and can drop off their mail ballot in person.
“Today is ‘No Kings Vote Early.’ It is the fourth ‘No Kings’ national event, but this one is really different. It’s not about a protest. It’s about a celebratory rally to get people to vote. And it just happens that today is our first day of early voting here. So we’re actually at eight locations across the valley today, including here at Desert Breeze,” said Beth Osborne of Indivisible Las Vegas.
Osborne said Nevada voters get two full weeks of early voting and a mail ballot if they are registered, so there is “no excuse” not to participate. She urged people to turn in ballots early to make sure their vote is counted.
