LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A 53-year-old woman was arrested for murder after initially claiming masked men armed with knives attacked her and her husband inside their home.

Officers responded to an apartment complex, located near Rainbow and Oakey, just after 5:30 a.m. following reports of a stabbing on Thursday, October 22.

Police located a man and a woman inside, both suffering from apparent stab wounds. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities later announced that the woman, identified as Naima Ahmadi, was arrested in connection to the death.

According to an arrest report, dispatchers received a disconnected 911 call from Ahmadi, tracking it to the west Las Vegas apartment.

On callback, she confirmed she needed medical help and told an officer over the phone that she and her husband needed help after being attacked by two masked men with knives.

Officers forced entry and located the duo in the living room. Her husband was found with multiple stab wounds while Ahmadi was found with superficial cuts to her wrists and neck, the arrest report states.

During an interview with police, Ahmadi told police the men broke in overnight on October 20 following a medical call, injured both her and her husband.

Investigators note that according to her, one of the males told the other male he wanted her husband to watch her suffer.

They then fled out the front door and left her unconscious. She would later call police when regaining consciousness, according to the report.

Investigators found that surveillance video showed no one coming or going from the apartment and that witnesses had seen a moving truck at the residence.

When asked about the truck, Ahmadi insisted that the two were planning to move but hadn’t decided where yet.

While she initially told detectives the couple had no friends or family to contact, she later pleaded to reach out to them so they could vouch and verify that she is a good person, the report states.

According to the report, medical staff told officers that Ahmadi’s injuries appeared self-inflicted, and she was admitted for a psychological observation.

Detectives also found that the kitchen knife found next to the man’s body matched the couple’s own knife block. Officials determined multiple inconsistencies in her story, leading to her arrest.

Ahmadi was slated to appear in court on Tuesday but was not transported due to medical reasons.

She remains held without bail and is due back in court on November 30.
