LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Crews are putting the finishing touches on the Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix course ahead of the Nov. 19-21 race weekend.
FOX5 took a lap around the track to see how things are shaping up.
Harmon Avenue and Koval Lane
The lap started just off Las Vegas Boulevard, turning onto Harmon. According to the F1 website, track lighting work will continue for the next couple of days with overnight lane closures here. All existing lanes are open during daytime.
The Audrie and Top Golf vehicle bridges are complete, according to F1.
We then turned from Harmon onto Koval, where the pit building and grandstands are located.
Traffic backed up heading up Koval toward Flamingo just outside Ellis Island, with a bottleneck at Koval and Flamingo for drivers heading north on Koval. There is a temporary vehicle bridge now in place at the intersection.

Sphere area and the Strip
Near the Sphere, track lighting and track barriers are complete, according to F1. Crews were actively working on grandstands just up the road — the most active construction we saw along the route.
On Sands, track lighting is complete, but track barriers are still going up with overnight lane closures until Oct. 30.
The route then turns onto the long straightaway on the Strip, past Caesars and the grandstands at the Bellagio — where F1 cars will top 200 mph during the race. The F1 website says track lighting work will continue until Oct. 30 with overnight lane closures, with one lane open in each direction. All existing lanes are open during daytime.
