In the 911 calls, the operator could be heard with someone from Las Vegas Fire and Rescue who was tracking the ambulance. They gave the 911 operator directions as to where it was going.
“Where was it originally taken from?” the operator asked.
“Heart Attack grill downtown,” the caller said.
The 911 call revealed there was no patient inside the ambulance.
“Looks like we probably have eyes on him. Looks like Boulder pass Missouri, code red. He almost hit a car ” the operator said.
In the 911 calls, FOX5 learned the ambulance went from downtown, to the US 95 to the I-15 and then the 215 beltway westbound before it crashed with another car near Centennial Parkway and Pecos Road.
The driver of the other car was taken to the hospital while the suspect who stole the ambulance was treated for minor injuries and then arrested.
The whole ordeal lasted for about 40 minutes, but damages to the ambulance were so significant that it could not be used anymore.
